New uses for Olot's old hospital
The City Council of Olot has launched a participatory process about the future uses of Hospital Sant Jaume. Within this process, the Garrotxa-Ripollès COAC Delegation organized a meeting to discuss the future uses of the existing building, which took place on Friday November 7th.
The event was attended by councillors Estanis Vayreda and Nuria Fite; mayor Josep M Corominas; and COAC representative Nieves Roca. They explained the possibilities for the building and the City Council's appreciation. The initial proposal is a multipurpose building, in which to centralize municipal services and continue with elderly assistance.
After the explanation of the work carried out by the City Council, during question time, there was a debate about commercial uses inside and outside the urban area and about the revitalization of the old town.

CUSTOMISED ADVICE ON HOUSING REHABILITATION
The Adviser's Office is an open contact point with the public, where information and advice will be provided. COAC participates by enabling architects to assist public consultations on housing rehabilitation. Thus, citizens are able to get information and recommendations about possible improvement or maintenance actions as well as subsidies for rehabilitation works.
FAMILY WORKSHOPS
Workshops organised by COAC:
- "KAPLA Workshop: Barcelona Towers" (December 13th, from 16.30 to 18.30 pm). Construction workshop with KAPLA, for children from 6 to 12 years old. KAPLA is an educational game based on rectangular wooden pieces of the same size, with which you can build different shapes.
- "Recycle Eixample" (December 14th, from 12 to 14 pm). Workshop for children which aims to familiarize them with the Eixample, make them think about its shortcomings and possible improvements, and finally make proposals through a collective model that will be built with recycled materials.
Family workshops are free, but registration is required.

Architect David Mackay passes away
When preparing a monograph on MBM, Oriol Bohigas told me, about a drawing we had selected, that it was his work 'but there was probably the hand of David. There is always the hand of David.'
Public trajectories of each of the MBM members belong to each of them. The work of the office, however, is choral: to the point that in many pictures, it is almost impossible to distinguish the outlines of the three partners.
Thank you, David.
