Premiada la 'Ruta de les avantguardes: Cadaqués - Tossa de Mar', de Xavier Llobet i Marc Manzano

L'11 de desembre va tenir lloc el lliurament dels Premis G!, que organitza el Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava Girona per reconèixer trajectòries i treballs dels professionals del sector turístic. El president de la Generalitat, Artur Mas, va presidir l'acte.

En aquesta novena edició dels Premis, el jurat va concedir un accèssit, en la categoria de recerca turística, al projecte “Ruta de les avantguardes: Cadaqués - Tossa de Mar”, dels arquitectes col·legiats Xavier Llobet i Marc Manzano.

Aquesta ruta planteja establir un lligam geogràfic entre aquelles poblacions que van acollir pintors, cineastes o arquitectes d’avantguarda. Seria el cas, per exemple, de Cadaqués (Dalí), Ceret (Picasso), Mont-roig (Miró) o Tossa (Boelitz, Chagall, Benet). Catalunya ha estat un dels bressols de les avantguardes artístiques del segle XX, així com un lloc d’acollida per a molts artistes estrangers. 

Els Premis G! van ser creats l’any 2005 pel Patronat de Turisme de les Comarques de Girona amb l’objectiu de reconèixer i premiar la bona gestió empresarial dels professionals turístics gironins. Alhora, també volen estimular la difusió a l’exterior dels recursos i atractius turístics de la regió i promoure, amb el premi de recerca, el coneixement científic d’aquesta activitat aplicada a les comarques de Girona.

Exhibition: 'Coderch's Legacy'

MINIM organizes the exhibition 'Coderch's Legacy', which shows the last project by architect José Antonio Coderch de Sentmenat, key figure of the Spanish post-war architecture, and a reference for several generations of architects. The exhibition opens on November 26th and will be open until January 30th, 2015.

A documentary has been specially produced for this exhibition. "Remembering Coderch" was directed by Poldo Pomés, and features architects Oriol Bohigas, Oscar Tusquets, Carlos Ferrater, Federico Correa and Rafael Moneo.

The film will be shown every Tuesday at 6 pm, except January 6th. Both the exhibition and the film are free of charge. The exhibition can be visited at MINIM (Via Augusta 165, Barcelona) Monday to Friday from 10 am to 8 pm and Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm.

Also, the following debates will be held:

- "Visions on Coderch". December 9th at 7.30 pm, with the participation of Antonio Armesto, Emili Donato, Carlos Ferrater, Carlos Fochs and Ginés Górriz.

- "The legacy of Coderch". January 13th at 7.30 pm, with Jordi Badia, Josep Llinàs, Octavio Mestre, Jaume Prat and Elina Vilá.

Debate on European Identity and European Architecture

The European Commission Representative in Barcelona and the Fundació Mies van der Rohe organize the debate “European Identity and European Architecture”, within the framework of the project “New Narratives for Europe”. The event will take place on November 28th at Mies van der Rohe Pavilion.

Leading European architects will discuss the ideas and values which define European Architecture and consider what these can tell us about the future of the European Union. For example, what are the distinguishing features of European architecture, and what do they tell us about the ideas, interests, needs and values of European society?

The architects participating in this event will be: Petra Ceferin, from Ljubljana; Peter Cachola Schmal, from Frankfurt; Caroline Bos, from Amsterdam; and Margarita Jover, from Barcelona. Journalist Llàtzer Moix will act as moderator.

50th Anniversary of the Gobierno Civil Building in Tarragona

This year marks the fiftieth anniversary of the Gobierno Civil building in Tarragona, as well as the centenary of architect Alejandro de la Sota's birth. Therefore, the exhibition "100 years with Alejandro de la Sota" will open on November 18th. Our wish is that it will be as successful as earlier exhibitions in the CGAC and COAM.

The exhibition will open from November 18th until January 16th, 2015, from 9 am to 7 pm from Monday to Sunday. Guided tours are conducted on Saturdays at 10.30 am and 12.30 pm (with appointment only).

Organized by COAC together with the Government Subdelegation in Tarragona, and sponsored by Repsol, the Spanish Ministry of Development, BASF, ANAV and Zona Franca Consortium. Produced by ICO Foundation together with Alejandro de la Sota Foundation.

 



The exhibition features a chronological tour that includes works like Pueblo de Esquivel, Civil Government of Tarragona, Maravillas Gymnasium, Casa Dominguez, León Post Office, Alcudia housing and Central Lechera Clesa, with original drawings, photographs, models and furniture.

There will also be a series of conferences and debates related to the work of Alejandro de la Sota, with the participation of architects Mariano Bayon, Josep Llinas, Moises Puente, Santiago Barge Ferreiros and Jordi Guerrero.

All events will take place in Subdelegación del Gobierno de Tarragona, except for the closing conference, which will be held in the Architect's Association's headquarters in Tarragona.
